UTILITY CREW MEMBER CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Village of Fontana-On-Geneva Lake (Population: 2000 full time, 8000 seasonal) is accepting applications for a full-time position on its water and sewer crew. This is skilled work in the installation and repair of water and sanitary sewer system components. Examples of duties include locating buried utilities, installation and maintenance of water and sewer mains and laterals, repairing, testing, and changing water meters, maintaining and flushing fire hydrants, and checking and maintaining motors, pumps, and valves at wells and lift stations.

Qualified applicants will have a complete working knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution systems and sanitary sewer collection systems. This position requires an individual who possesses a strong set of problem solving skills, unquestionable integrity, and a passion for customer service. This individual must demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude and an advanced set of construction related skills.  At a minimum, the ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and five (5) years of experience working with public water and sewer utilities.  Candidates with Wisconsin Municipal Water Operator Certification are desired. A good driving record and the possession of, or ability to obtain, a class B commercial driver’s license are a must.
