Summer Storywagon Series Begins June 24
The Lakeshores Library System 2008 Storywagon Series has the theme “Catch the Reading Bug!” this summer. The Storywagon Series is celebrating its 23rd year of bringing summertime entertainment to children of all ages at public libraries in Walworth and Racine counties.
Fontana Public Library performances will be hosted in the Village Hall Meeting Room, 175 Valley View Drive, beginning at 10:00 am on Tuesdays, June 24, July 8, July 15 and July 22, 2008. Program Schedule

The library will be closed Saturday, May 24, 2008 for a system upgrade and Monday, May 26, 2008 for Memorial Day.
Library Announces Poetry, Drawing Contest Winners
The Fontana Public Library celebrated National Poetry Contest in April with its most successful poetry contest in recent years. The theme of the contest, “Catch the Reading Bug,” is also the theme of the summer reading program.
Poets of all ages responded with poems about insects. All of the entries have been bound into a book which is on display in the library. The “Catch the Reading Bug” theme was also used for a children’s drawing contest open to 4- and 5-year-olds. The drawings are also on display at the library
Poetry Contest Winners: First Grade: Ava Doubek (Teacher: Ms. Sween); Mark Pasikov (Teacher: Ms. Graham).
Second Grade: Taitan Workman (Ms. Clausius); Carly Murbach (Ms. Clausius).
Third Grade: Gabriella Esarco (Ms. Sammons); Colten Flom (Ms. Sammons).
Fifth Grade: Kathryn Colby (Ms. Lamsam); Dakota Sammons (Ms. Parker).
Adult: Aubrey Richey.
Drawing Contest Winners: 4K (Ms. Labermeier): Katie Kirchschlager (winner); Casey Kirchschlager (honorable mention); 5K ((Ms. Murtell): Julia Klok (winner), Carson Westman (honorable mention), 5K (Ms. Selvey): Paige Landreman (winner), Reagan Courier (honorable mention).
Library Announces Bug Contest
Children have the opportunity to show off their creative sides in the Fontana Public Library's "Bug contest."
There are no restrictions on materials. Entries, which must be 12 inches or smaller, must be delivered to the library by Saturday, May 24, 2008
Library patrons will be allowed to cast one vote for their favorite bug.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, June 7, 2008. All entries will be displayed in the library through August. Program Flyer
SHARE Offers Online Services
The Lakeshores Library System’s Shared Holding and Resource Exchange (SHARE) program offers more than 850,000 title to choose from through the 43 participating libraries. SHARE services also are available online at: www.sharelibraries.info.
Evening Book Club Meets Thursdays
The Fontana Public Library holds its Evenign Book Club program on the third Thursday of each month, beginning at 6:30 PM. Contact the Library for more information.

A board of residents and citizens oversees the running of the library. The board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:00 AM at the library.
