Recycling

Recycling is picked up on garbage day (Monday). Have material at the street by 6:00 AM. Fontana has “single stream” recycling, which means that all recyclable materials can be combined in blue bags. There are detailed instructions on the website.

Yard Waste Removal

In short, the Village does not pick up bagged yard waste from your property. There is a compost project in the Duck Pond area where residents may take yard waste. Please follow the signs and instructions. Leaf Vacuum & Brush Chipper Services Guidelines

The Village does operate a leaf removal truck in the Spring and Fall. Property owners should pile leaves within five (5) feet of the street (but off the pavement) to have them picked up. The full ordinance, including dates of leaf truck operation, is available here.

Garlic Mustard

Garlic mustard should be pulled from yards and gardens. Pulled garlic mustard plants should be separted from other yard waste and taken to the Duck Pond area and put on the burn pile, or they should be placed and sealed in plastic bags and put out with the garbage for collection by Keizer and Sons. Village Services

The Village provides several other services to the community such as garbage removal, water and sewer, and the Assessor’s Office.

Metered Parking

Metered parking is in effect from April 15 thru October 15, seven days per week.
The charge is $0.50 per hour.

Resident Parking Stickers

There is no charge when parking in metered spaces if the vehicle has a valid parking sticker. Stickers for cars are $10.00 each and can be obtained at the Village Hall. Each parcel owner is allowed to purhase up to four parking stickers per parcel. The stickers are static cling and can be moved from car to car. These stickers entitle you to park for free at any parking meter in the village.

Utility Bill Automatic Payment Plan

The Village of Fontana offers its property owners a plan that authorizes quarterly utility bill payments to be deducted from a savings or checking account. Details

Village Offers Credit Card, Electronic Check Payment Options

The Village of Fontana has contracted with Official Payments Corporation to offer credit card and electronic check payment options for property taxes, non-parking citations, utility bills and other miscellaneous payments. System Information
